How to align Objectives
How does your work impact on the company's goals? Have you ever had a hard time answering this question? This article is for you!
Alignment is the action of creating bonds between Objectives.
An Objective can contribute to another Objective and receive contributions from an unlimited number of Objectives. Confusing? I will give you an example!
For the company to achieve its own Objective (INCREDIBLE and CONSTANT growth), it is necessary the different departments achieve their own Objectives. For example, for Sales Team's Objective "To have a lot of clients on the sales pipeline" to be successful, it relies on other Objectives to also be successful, like the Marketing team's "Raise the number of leads that arrive on our pipeline" and so forth. This creates a sense of connectivity between the organization's Objectives without necessarily having one, since we are working with hypotheses.
How to align Objectives?
You can align them with a few clicks! But before that you need to make sure that the Objective is "Public" 😊
-
Click on the Objective that you want to be aligned.
-
On the top right corner, go to "Alignment"
-
Click on the "Align" blue button:
4. Type the name of the Objective that you want to align with.
5. Go back to the OKR's main page and click on the "Strategic Map" tab:
6. Make sure that your Objective was aligned correctly.
