The OKR (and Project) Approval Workflow helps directly in the planning stage of the cycle, adding a few steps to the flow of creating OKRs in the platform. With it, platform admins and leaders can approve the goals and projects created and also request revisions before the OKRs become "officially" effective within the platform. Click here, to learn more about the approval part.
In this article, we will talk specifically about the part involving Contributors.
Contributors can only 1) participate in the approval workflow, 2) submit for approval their participation as a contributor, 3) have their contribution approved, after the approval of the responsible person's goal happens. Until this happens, the system displays the following message:
This notification is shown until the responsible person's contribution is approved and during this time we can send some contribution-related notifications, which will be explained next.
Contribution-related notifications
Contributors are notified (via email and in-app) when the responsible person's contribution is approved.
Also, the lead receives an in-app notification when any lead is added as a contributor or responsible person to a KR, whose contribution in the goal has already been approved.
Example:
-
Bel is Davi's leader
-
Davi contributes to a goal (either a contributor or a responsible), and his contribution is already approved at KR
-
David is added as a contributor (or responsible party) to a new KR(2), within this same objective
-
Bel is notified of David's inclusion in the KR
Contributors (who are not the responsible) of the OKR and its leader, can only edit the weight of their contribution, if the setting is enabled in the cycle. This is because if they could edit more fields, they could change things that critics that have already been approved by the accountability leader.
