What is the difference between an Objective and a Project on the platform?

You can also keep track of project deliverables on Qulture.Rocks!

Updated over a week ago

At Qulture.Rocks it's possible to create Objectives and Projects, let's see the differences between each one below.

Objective

The Objectives are linked to the cycle of OKRs and within it are inserted the Key Results (quantitative metrics) which, when completed, guarantee the achieving of the Objective.

Objectives (or Goals) are business' aspects that you want to improve or achieve.

💡Tip: Great Objectives don't contain numbers or mention any specific KPIs.

Project

Project is a set of (binary) deliverables distributed over a period of time and defines where you want to go with this effort.

💡Tip: A great project should be aligned with an existing objective.

Creating objectives or projects

The definition of an objective or project takes place during creation. After clicking "New" within the OKR cycle, you need to select the "Type".

In practice, objectives have both numeric and deliverable Key Results, while projects have only deliverables.

⚠️Attention: it is currently not possible to change the type (Objective/Project) after it has been created. So, if you need to change the type, you need to recreate it, okay?

Now you are supposed to differentiate a project from an objective and to create then at Qulture.Rocks. If you want to know more about the OKRs methodology, we have precious content about it (click here).
