Explaining the Turnover calculation in the Qulture.Rocks platform

In Qulture, we calculate from the variables dismissals and headcount:

  • Total of Terminations: Total of people disconnected throughout the period (month), considering the date of disconnection registered in the platform.

  • Headcount: Total number of people in the company (headcount) at the beginning of the period (month), considering the admission and resignation dates registered in the platform.

For the Headcount we consider active employees and employees who are on leave.

To illustrate, consider a company with the following scenario of employees joining and leaving the company over a period of 7 months, with March/2022 as the beginning of its activities as a company:

Month

Headcount

Admissions

Terminations

April/2022

(19+5)-1 = 23

1/19 = 5%

May/2022

(23+2)-3 = 22

23/23 = 13%

June/2022

(22+3)-1 = 24

1/22 = 4%

July/2022

(24+3)-2 = 25

2/24 = 8%

Agosto/2022

(25+2)-1 = 26

1/25 = 4%

  • For the calculation of the final headcount of August/2022, we consider the (headcount of as ended July/2022) + (the hires of August/2022) - (the layoffs of August/2022);

  • For the calculation of the turnover rate for the month of August/2022, for example, we consider the (headcount as closed the month of July) divided by (the amount of resignations for the month of August).

Important: For companies that don't have headcount in the immediately previous month, we don't calculate turnover in the current month. In the example above, since the company started its activities in March/2022, we don't calculate turnover for this month because it has no headcount in February/2022.
