OKR: How to register teams in bulk?
OKR: How to register teams in bulk?

In this step by step you will understand how to correctly fill in the team columns in the employee bulk import spreadsheet

Updated over a week ago

Before you start reading this article, it is important to understand how to register new collaborators in bulk works today on the platform.

Important ⚠️

Teams are used mainly in OKRs. The definition of team leaders does not apply to the hierarchy and definition of relationships in the Organization, agreed?

You can learn more about this here.

If you want to do this manually, you can follow the article "How to register/update teams manually?".

Steps to import:

1 - In your company's employee import spreadsheet, there are two columns that refer to the import of teams:

member_in_teams

leader_in_teams

It is important to say that each row in the employee bulk import spreadsheet is an employee, with their information in each column;

2 - Fill the member_in_teams column with all the teams that such an employee is part of, separating these teams by ";" ,

⚠️ You must fill in ALL the teams the employee is on. Otherwise, he may be added to one team, but removed from another(s).

3 - Fill out the leader_in_teams column with the teams that this employee is leader of.

Important: There can be only one leader per team. So, in the leader_in_teams column each team can only appear once, but nothing prevents an employee from being the leader of more than one team. In this way, all the teams that such an employee is leader of must be entered separated by ";" (semicolon).

Example 1: For an employee who is in more than one team and is not a leader of any team:

member_in_teams

leader_in_teams

People;Marketing

In this example we can see that a certain employee is a member of the People and Marketing teams.

Example 2: For an employee who is in more than one team and is the leader of one of the teams:

member_in_teams

leader_in_teams

People

Marketing

In this example we can see that a certain employee is a member of the People and Marketing team, as well as being a leader of the Marketing team.

Example 3: For an employee who is in more than one team and is a leader of both:

member_in_teams

leader_in_teams

People;Marketing

In this example we can see that a certain employee is the leader of the People and Marketing teams, as well as being a member of these two teams.

⚠️ Points of attention

  • The spreadsheet itself does the importing/creation of teams.

  • This process creates a new team if the name in the spreadsheet is different from the name of the team registered in the platform.

    • If there is a slight change in the spelling, another team will be created, for example:

      • I have only one Marketing team;

        • When I fill in the spreadsheet, I fill in some employees with Marketing (lowercase) and others with Marketing (uppercase);

        • At the end of the import, I will have two teams: the "marketing" team and the "Marketing" team;

  • It is important to note that the "Area" column is different from the columns used for teams.
