Calculation method for the OKRs' progress

Find out how the platform calculates the progress of your OKRs

Updated over a year ago

The percentages of the progress of the OKRs on the platform are calculated automatically using arithmetic average. If the weights are enabled, they are calculated by weighted average (know how to enable them in this article).

This way, we can take into account the weight assigned to that Objective and its Key Results. The calculation is done as follows:

KR = Key Result's percentage

P = Key Result's weight

∑P = Sum of all of these Key Results' weights

For example:

In this case, we have the following calculation:

The same calculation is made for all Objectives shown on the Home Page, giving you the result shown in the employees, team or company tabs! Just as a reminder, this is the OKRs product home page:

You may have noticed that there are three colors in our screenshots as percentages and weights are displayed, namely green, yellow, and red.

The rule for each color is as follows:

  • Progress below 33.33% appears as red.

  • Between 33.33% and 66.66%, it appears as yellow.

  • From 66.66% and above, it appears as green.
